Only in buffalo!
Any Mom of a cheerleader cringes at the words mental block. I have seen girls with amazing ability take one bad fall and give up. I have long prayed please don’t let that ever happen! So as I was sitting in the parent room a cheerleader comes out and says “your poor daughter” I know what’s coming! She fell out of her tuck? “yep and it was bad” GREAT! The gym dismissed and she never came out. At 920 she comes into the main gym from the tumescent gym crying. You know the cry…the hiccup crying. She has an awesome coach that kept making her try again. But she is freaked out. Although she is sore and bruised I pushed her back to practice and she would not tuck. But did back handspring. I have tried to tell her that cheer is like life. You will fall many times but you have to get back up! Weather it’s physical pain or emotional pain you cannot let it consume you. You can choose to let it control you or you can control it! Now if I can just make me 14 year old believe in herself again
I can only hope that one day my daughter will grow up and marry a rich guy so that she can hire a personal assistant to keep track of all of the crap I currently keep track of! I am at work delivering a baby and getting texts from this child because apparently she cannot find her shoes! Oh the drama! You mean those shoes in the black bag I removed from the car after your last cheer practice? This child is an organization nightmare. Good thing I love her……
